If you have a keen eye for the big picture, excellent production skills, and enjoy working collaboratively, we may have the perfect role for you! As a Production Supervisor, you will be using your skills and expertise to oversee employees who put together component parts to make assemblies, subassemblies, packaging, or completed units. You'll be responsible for reviewing our production schedules, material, and manpower resources, assigning employees to maximize our production objectives, informing employees of production and material problems, and resolving problems affecting schedules while maintaining the quality of our products. You'll participate in establishing and modifying our operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures.
Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and Kennedy Space Center, Florida, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safety or security of people or property
  • Provide leadership, development and direction to non-exempt team(s) with-in Sierra Space Operations/Production
  • Driving Culture of Compliance, Innovation and Mission Success.
  • Build Resource leader for Vertical Integrated Build Team
  • Exceeding corresponding goals (TRIR, CoPQ, Cost, On-time Delivery)
  • Utilization of management of change process within R&D/Production Environment


Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field of study
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for required education.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
  • Experience with corrective action planning
  • Previous management or lead experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment
  • Thorough understanding and experience with the practical application of manufacturing principles


Preferred:

  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • EQ
  • Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Higher
  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps
  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity
  • Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception and telling the difference between colors
  • Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes
  • Rarely lifting or carrying up to 35 lbs.


Working Conditions:

  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials
  • Frequently exposed to loud noises


Safety Sensitive Position:

  • Inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials
  • Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles
  • Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery


Estimated Starting Salary Range: $79,264.96 - $108,989.32
