The Opportunity: 

We’re seeking a Network Engineer to join our fast-paced IT Team. This person will report to the Director of IT and own responsibility for supporting our internal networking infrastructure as well as being a point of contact for other departments as a SME in networking. The role requires an individual with the drive to learn new things and a passion for networking and sharing of networking knowledge cross functionally.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor, analyze, and maintain the enterprise Network environment
• Monitor the enterprise network health and open tickets with ISPs as necessary
• Act as the primary interface with equipment and ISP vendors for resolving network issues
• Assist with working trouble tickets submitted by internal customers
• Act as point of contact for networking knowledge needs across business functions
• Work with internal customers to troubleshoot network related problems
• Support the engineering staff with LAN/WAN hardware configurations, upgrades, and general maintenance
• Assist with planning and implementation of network projects
• Provide input to management for network design, procurement of network equipment and supplies
• Track and apply security patches and system maintenance as needed
• Interacting with third party vendors for support and purchases
• Work occasional evenings and weekends as required

Qualifications:  

• Must have excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with CLI
• Linux Experience a plus
• Knowledge of advanced networking concepts
• Firewall and switch configuration experience
• Able to research and make recommendations for new technologies as needed
• Responsive and proactive to customer requests + able to maintain a friendly persona under pressure
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple, simultaneous assignments
• Must be self-motivated, resourceful, and detail-oriented
• Have the drive and aptitude to take on new projects, learn new skillsets, and expand current knowledgebase

Experience/Education Required:

• At least 5 years of experience with enterprise level networking
• At least 2 years of experience with project work in a dynamic IT environment
• Relevant certifications or education a plus
