Role Overview:

As a key member of the Boom Supersonic IT department, the IT Operations Assistant will work in close coordination with the IT Team in performing all activities associated with installing, supporting, and maintaining a wide range of IT hardware, software, and services. This position requires someone who is customer focused, very responsive, action oriented, and has experience in clerical functions. This role requires the candidate to have a high level of professionalism in how they handle all levels of interactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist users in resolving computer hardware and software issues
  • Ensure quick response times to facilitate maximum uptime for all users and systems
  • Provide end users with Tier I technical support for devices: computers, workstations, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other hardware
  • Be the first responder to technology tickets and phone calls, resolve issues for customers or pass on to Tier II and III support as needed
  • Document and analyze tech support requests, prepare, and summarize review of support at regular team meetings
  • Responsible for initial assembly, configuration, maintenance, and delivery of hardware
  • Installation and troubleshoot basic software applications
  • Assist customers with login resets
  • Communicate with external support entities regarding product, product orders, create return authorizations with vendors when warranted, and prepare products for shipping returns
  • Responsible for coordinating and completing IT inventory and documentation
  • Enters all required information of all service requests and incidents into the Service Desk software
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
  • Discuss with users best practices for PC maintenance and performance
  • Maintain, track, and control related inventory
  • Utilize third-party tools to improve support efficiency
  • Collaborate with co-workers to share expertise, information and solve problems
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of IT.

Qualifications:

  • Three plus years of IT administrative experience in a corporate environment
  • Expert working knowledge of all Microsoft Windows & Office technologies (Windows as well as MS Office Productivity Suite) and Apple OS
  • Expert working knowledge of Google G Suite, Slack, Office 365 and other hosted business applications is a plus
  • Create a high level of user satisfaction through accurate and timely follow-up & strong technical skills
  • Must demonstrate superior organization and time management skills
  • Ability to routinely lift 20-25 lbs and occasionally lift and move 50+ lbs 

Education/Certifications:

  • High School or equivalent required
  • Associate’s Degree or higher preferred 

Salary Range for this position is $40,000- 50,000 base salary and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position.

To conform to U.S. Government aerospace technology export regulations (ITAR and EAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
