E Source, an energy-related research, advisory, and consulting firm, is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivated office-technology generalist for an immediate full-time opening in our Boulder, Colorado office. This is an on-site position requiring reliable daily attendance within specified work hours, generally Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekend and after-hours work is rare, but occasionally required.

The opening is for a IT Help Desk Technician in the Business Technology department, which is a combination role consisting of 75 percent IT help desk and 25 percent facilities support duties.

The Business Technology department at E Source handles greater areas of responsibility than does a typical IT department, and as such the successful team member will possess characteristics of an enthusiastic and willing generalist. We maintain a lively, cooperative, and creative team dynamic emphasizing the delivery of excellence in direct support of the technology needs of our coworkers.

These duties will include those of a typical help desk technician, including:

  • Triage of incoming tickets, providing level 1 solutions to workstation, network, and infrastructure issues
  • Escalating complex issues appropriately
  • Following up on tickets to ensure all issues are completed to the satisfaction of our internal customers
  • Maintaining and updating internal user-facing documentation
  • Educating and informing users of policies, practices, and solutions
  • Performing basic network and directory administration tasks
  • In addition to the duties listed above, this position will be involved in facilities maintenance, including:
    • Monitoring and maintaining office supplies inventory
    • Working with vendors to ensure the physical facilities are maintained properly
    • Monitoring and updating access control and alarm systems

We expect to provide training in our suite of tools and processes. Nonetheless, experience in the following areas is preferred:

  • Use of a ticketing system
  • Windows 10 maintenance and troubleshooting
  • OS X maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Laptop troubleshooting and diagnosis
  • Documentation of processes and solutions

Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Google Apps suite use, administration experience is a plus
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written skills
