Role Overview: 

We are looking for an Investor Relations Associate to perform a range of activities including: answering investor questions, accessing and analyzing cap table information, and responding to other transaction requests quickly and accurately to ensure the highest level of stakeholder satisfaction. The Investor Relations Associate will provide investor research, provide input on investor presentations, track potential investor interest, and provide general support as part of subsequent capital raises. They will also serve as an important utility player - pitching in to analyze and develop insights on an array of financial topics. Longer term, they will be a part of an Investor Relations organization that will establish the roadmap for continued investor engagement and research analyst cultivation, and blueprint the metrics that support this roadmap. There will be continuous interaction with the CFO and executive team in support of Boom’s financing strategy.  

 

You should have excellent interpersonal skills, generating buy-in on an array of financial topics through rigorous analysis, research and proactive communication. The successful candidate has a resourceful, can-do approach to these demands and enjoys the continuous learning curve of a startup. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high level of customer service to all shareholders through quick and accurate information sharing and transaction support.
  • Exercise discretion and confidentiality in sharing information and having a thorough understanding of what can be shared with each stakeholder.
  • Proactive assessment of cap table activity and investor queries to anticipate where additional follow up is required .
  • Execution and analysis and financial models to support investment decisions.
  • Provide background information on potential investors and track potential investor engagement during capital raises.
  • Research external data sources that inform market analyses and financial forecasts.
  • Process various transaction requests related to option grants in close collaboration with HR team.
  • Process other transaction requests related to share purchases and capital raises in close collaboration with legal teams.
  • Prepare investor updates and provide input on investor and board presentations .

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study required.
  • 5+ years experience in sell side investment research, investment banking or public company investor relations.
  • 3+ years post-MBA finance experience focused on aerospace and mobility sectors.
  • Strong understanding of SEC laws and securities disclosure requirements, as well as filing requirements.
  • High attention to detail and ability to spot underlying trends and inconsistencies in financial data and analysis.
  • Familiar with financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used by analysts and investors.
  • Has superb written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to draft engaging and messages for investors.
  • Familiar with financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used by analysts and investors.
  • A strong network of investment community relationships.
  • Experience using Carta or equivalent equity management software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced degree in relevant field of study, MBA with an emphasis in finance preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build investment community relationships and influence critical external audiences.
  • Comfortable and skilled at managing across multiple senior executive lead stakeholder groups to achieve results with a sense of urgency.

Compensation: 

  • Base salary range for this position is $115,000-$145,000 and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position.
  • Robust equity program with significant upside potential.
  • Open PTO.
