Job Duties 

• Verify patient demographics and insurance for eligibility 
• Verify that the correct insurance plan is selected for the patient 
• Send care requests to billing once all patient information and insurance is correct 
• Contact insurance companies when necessary to verify insurance eligibility 
• Contact patients for additional information when necessary for insurance eligibility 
• Work closely with the Medical Coders to ensure patient insurance is correct for accurate coding and billing 
• Assist the Accounts Receivable team to reconcile incorrect insurance information that causes claim denials when necessary 

Job Requirement and Qualifications 

• Minimum of 3 years experience insurance verification 
• AA degree required, BA/BS degree or higher preferred (emphasis in accounting) 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills 
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel 
• Must be able to navigate banking websites 
• Detail oriented and organized 
• Strong analytical skills 
• Self-motivated
