POSITION OBJECTIVE- This faculty member will provide instruction and related activities in accordance with the philosophies and procedures of Emily Griffith
Technical College resulting in effective delivery of the Hybrid Cyber Security program and achievement of identified outcomes. Under
the supervision of the Instructional Dean, the instructor will also assist with state board compliance, accreditation, and in maintaining
the overall integrity of the Cyber Security program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 Work cohesively within the strategic direction, mission, and goals of the institution.
 Teach assigned Cyber Security courses utilizing a hybrid classroom model – 50% face-to-face instruction, 50% online
instruction utilizing a Learning Management System.
 Effectively teach assigned courses with multiple instructional delivery methods and a focus on effective assessment.
 Demonstrate, instruct, and provide guided practice in all of the following: network setup, information assurance principles,
firewalls and network security, cloud computing, antivirus concepts, assessing vulnerability, data encryption, and network
security and defense.
 Maintain and update course syllabus and expectations regularly and or as needed.
 Write unit lesson plans, daily lesson plans, and various written and performance assessments in the classroom and lab
setting.
 Teach adults and concurrent enrollment students ages 17 and older.
 Communicate patiently and respectfully to students, staff and parents/guardians.
 Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and overall performance using appropriate software systems
used by the institution.
 Maintain appropriate inventory for all program equipment, materials, and supplies.
 Supervise and maintain the cleanliness of the classroom/lab.
 Oversee and maintain the safety of the students and working environment.
 Maintain discipline and enforce rules of conduct and behavior in accordance with school policy.
 Attend and participate in faculty, departmental, advisory committee, and other professional meetings.
 Participate in professional development activities to remain current with industry practices and advancements.
 Perform other duties as assigned by the Instructional Dean or his/her designee.

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION -Must possess or have the ability to acquire a Colorado Credential for Career and Technical Education.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – Describe the minimum education and experience required for the job.
Associates degree related to Information Technology with at least 18 credits in a related field.
4000 hours of industry wage earning experience in a related occupation within the preceding 7 years.

An applicant with related Bachelor’s degree or higher – 2000 hours.
Broad knowledge of techniques and practices used in the industry.

KNOWLEDGE & OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

 Ability to perform under stress.
 Ability to direct and monitor the activities of others.
 Flexible, creative, and strong conflict resolution skills.
 Ability to communicate orally with students, staff, and the community at large.
 Ability to evaluate and judge instructional materials and methods.
 Ability to demonstrate a positive student service attitude, particularly under stress.
 Excellent daily attendance is very important to maintain the educational continuity necessary to meet instructional
requirements.
 Classroom management and the ability to coordinate instructional activities and work with staff and students.
