About the Role

OrthoFi is building a world class team that is committed to wowing customers at every opportunity. We are looking for a Team Lead that is excited to join a fast-paced startup that is on the verge of realizing hyper-growth. The Insurance Team Lead will report directly to the Insurance Operations Manager and will be responsible for delivering world class service to our clients by realizing the strategy for how OrthoFi partners with and supports Orthodontic staff, doctors, and patients using OrthoFi’s Insurance services. We are looking for someone who is a passionate leader, someone who inspires others to grow and exceed! This person will provide leadership to a team of 10 - 12 insurance representatives, executing on the tactical expectations required to ensure success.

The primary responsibilities for the Insurance Team Lead:

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of Orthofi’s Insurance Services to meet/exceed our SLA commitments

  • Provide coaching/development to the frontline Insurance team members, coaching the team to meet/exceed performance expectations

  • Provide the necessary support with new systems, process implementations, process automations, and/or iterations to policy/procedure within the teams

  • Partner with the Operations Manager to provide process improvement ideas

  • Maintain insurance policies and procedures that are in compliance with legal, contractual, and ethical best practices

  • Execute quality assurance and trainings to facilitate accurate benefit estimates, and maximize insurance payments with minimal delay

  • Collaborate cross functionally with other department leaders to provide support/ideas to further refine our organizational processes

  • Provide escalation support and assist in troubleshooting root cause for escalated issues.

  • Maintain in-depth working knowledge of Orthofi systems and processes

  • Drive continuous improvement ideas to improve service delivery of the team, creates excitement, and enhances the Orthofi brand.

  • Manage processes to ensure adherence to OrthoFi’s service level agreements

  • Assists in tool selection as related to providing an effective service

  • Participate in hiring process

  • Provides coaching of the frontline teammates, ensuring they receive weekly/bi-weekly feedback enabling their success

  • Create a team atmosphere that embodies the Orthofi core values and cultivates a “can-do” culture   

  • Provide tactical oversight and leadership while also driving the strategy of the overall team

  • All other duties as assigned

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 3+ years experience in a supervisory capacity

  • Experience in a dental insurance related business (Ortho preferred but not required) preferred

  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and active listening

  • In depth knowledge of insurance best practices

  • Proficiency with benefits eligibility checks, claims submission and follow up

  • Experienced with MS Office and/or Google Docs

  • Ability to adapt and change quickly

  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor

  • Expert communicator and analytical thinker

  • Prior experience within Orthodontic, Dental or Healthcare is a plus
