We're looking for a creative, innovative, and experienced Sr Product Marketing Manager to help contribute to that mission. This role is the glue that binds our product strategy to the tactics we need to drive success in sales and marketing to achieve measurable, meaningful results.
As an experienced product marketer, you undoubtedly have experience with persona creation. For a better understanding of this role, we've created our own ideal product marketing persona:
  • You love competitive intelligence and market research. You know our competitors like the back of your hand: what they do today and what they plan to do in the future. You also know our buyers, across multiple segments and sectors, better than they know themselves, including how they make their buying decisions. This isn't guesswork. You back up strategic insights with market evidence and then use that knowledge to drive the development of positioning and messaging that resonates with buyers and empowers our sales channels to be successful.
  • You're passionate about assuring that the right customers are getting the right message, through the right channels and take pride in building brand awareness across both existing and new segments. You embrace representing the customer's voice in product strategy discussions and decisions.
  • You report directly to the Head of Marketing but work closely across our Sales and Product teams to develop innovative programs that drive demand. You thrive in this type of cross-team coordination; you know it's a balancing act that requires strong diplomatic skills, including knowing when to push back and when to dive in.
  • You have an attention to detail and eye for quality that are critical to your success, along with an ability to grasp and present our product's value proposition in a way that resonates and clearly articulates how we solve our buyers' problems. You're a communicator who sees both the forest and the trees.
  • You are obsessed with tracking performance-and have the data to prove what's working and what isn't.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market research and intelligence-be the expert on both our competitors (how are they positioned, what are our key differentiators?) as well as our buyers (who are they, how do they buy, and what are their key buying criteria?).
  • Partner with Product Management to develop product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Develop marketing strategies to accelerate growth our products among target audiences
  • Develop go-to-market strategies, including key messaging development and tactical channel plans, to accelerate growth and ensure that all customer-facing teams are on-message.
  • Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas.
  • Understand and document our buyer's process, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind the decisions they make. Then drive changes to our sales and marketing processes based on what you learn.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support your products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.
  • Understand and support our sales channels; train them on the problems we solve for our buyers and users; develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it.
  • Oversee our Marketing Claims program, including both managing its everyday processes and how to leverage it as a strategic product offering.

Requirements
  • 3-5+ years of product marketing experience in a related industry with at least 2 years of experience in a market-facing role (conducting competitor analysis and market research, interacting with customers for research and presentations as needed)
  • Advanced competency in researching market trends and product positioning.
  • Comfortable using CRM tools such as Salesforce.
  • Familiar with marketing automation and tracking tools such as Pardot and Google Analytics or others.
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is -or isn't-working
  • Excellent people skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties. Team player!
