Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Manager

We're hiring a data-driven Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Manager to join Bonterra's digital marketing and demand gen team. The SEO Manager will report to the Digital Director of Web Strategy & Production and will manage SEO efforts aimed at driving increased organic traffic and conversion rates for the company's marketing websites.
The SEO Manager will work closely with internal team members and SEO agency partners to uncover opportunities, identify and execute optimizations, and report on organic search performance on a regular basis. You'll also support the redesign, relaunch and migration of our site in 2023 and other site content updates as-needed.
- Conduct audits and run site crawls to provide recommendations in line with industry best practices.
- Own and manage SEO strategy and roadmap across key websites in partnership with SEO agency to grow relevant organic search traffic and conversions while aligning with larger company goals and priorities
- Define measurable goals, establish priorities, communicate with internal stakeholders, and work with partner agencies and internal team members to implement those strategies
- Support and implement technical and on-page SEO optimizations
- Edit and optimize content, metadata, URLs, etc. for search engines
- Perform ongoing, in-depth research into keywords and user intent. Share research insights and SEO guidance with marketing, management, and leadership teams as-needed.
- Collaborate with web strategy & production and demand gen teams on growth strategy
- Manage the relationship, and work closely, with external SEO agency, ensuring program strategy aligns with business goals
- Manage implementation of optimizations with external dev agency where needed
- Partner with SEO agency to support upcoming site migration and consolidation to ensure seamless transition and mitigate risk of negative impact on SEO performance
- Stay up-to-date on SEO trends, search engine algorithm updates, and technology and communication POVs on impacts to the business.
- Develop SEO best practice documentation to educate other functional areas
- Analyze, monitor and report on SEO efforts and impact to the business via monthly, quarterly, and other reporting readouts.
- Proactively review and identify SEO growth opportunities.
Requirements
- Experience building SEO initiatives from scratch and with large-scale, complex site migrations
- Proven ability in managing and delivering growth in competitive space
- Demonstrable experience or understanding of how to optimize for organic traffic and conversions
- Data-driven, analytical mindset with ability to use data to problem solve and inform decisions
- Deep understanding of SEO research tools/platforms (e.g. Screaming Frog, SEMrush, etc.)
- Strong communication skills - written and oral with attention to detail
- Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, etc.)
- Experience using Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Data Studio
- Excellent writing, communication, time management, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a highly-collaborative, cross-functional team. Ensuring transparency and being accountable are a must.
- Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment with competing priorities.
- Creative, innovative, resourceful, and get-it-done attitude.
Preferred
- 3+ years of experience in SEO Manager role considered
- SEO agency experience preferred
