What You’ll Do

The Director will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing strategies for short and long-term SEO departmental growth while leading a team, including the SEO Manager. The Director will allocate work, time, and clients to the team. The Director will also have client-facing responsibilities, including developing and defining clients’ SEO strategies, spearheading on-page optimizations, new content generation, technical SEO maintenance, and site audits.
We are looking for someone with strong business acumen, excellent leadership qualities as well as communication, analytical, and strategy skills to deliver the best possible results and service to our growing team and client portfolio.

• Direct SEO strategy for Blue Moon Digital and associated clients
• Stay up to date with the latest SEO trends and maximize opportunities with clients to continuously evolve Blue Moon Digital’s SEO offering
• Manage mid to senior-level SEO staff (conduct one-on-ones, training as necessary, and support overall growth)
• Drive sales for SEO department and related services to prospective clients
• Drive innovation, education, and evangelization of organic search offerings
• Oversee SEO department process development and automation
• Oversee time allocation of team regarding current clients
• Manage client training and onboarding
• Actively contribute at the executive level regarding SEO

• Report on and support department KPI’s and reporting

What We’ll Love About You

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or similar facet of study
• 7+ years’ experience in SEO
• 3+ years’ experience managing teams & demonstrated leadership skills
• Proven experience growing an SEO department
• Actively manages for diversity and inclusion
• Proven experience pivoting SEO offerings to keep up with changing digital trends
• Extensive understanding of SEO principles, best practices, and industry trends
• Strong knowledge of technical aspects of SEO including keyword analysis, content optimization, search engines, sitemaps, indexes and algorithms

• Experience with SEO industry tools (BrightEdge, SEOMoz)
• Proficient with Google Analytics

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• 2+ years' experience managing a P&L 
• Ability to pivot quickly and keep up with fast-paced agency work
