Program Manager: HR Compliance & Immigration
Udemy is seeking a Program Manager: HR Compliance & Immigration to join our People Operations team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of HR Compliance, you’ll help drive programmatic compliance efforts including immigration, AAP, Harassment Prevention along with general policy development and support at a global scale. What you'll be doing:
- Manage core Compliance programs across Udemy: partner with People Operations, Legal, People Partners and Recruiting (among others) to deliver immigration, Affirmative Action Program (AAP), harassment prevention, policy updates/communication and other related initiatives.
- Manage immigration related inquiries - including those from hiring managers, candidates and employees. Monitor progress for global immigration cases in conjunction with external immigration counsel: identify long term sponsorship issues and communicate risk to Recruiting and/or hiring managers. Manage immigration vendors.
- Support the implementation of Udemy’s AAP, including partnering with internal teams such as Recruiting, People Partners and Learning & Development to help identify/define/revise related internal policies, practices and procedures (e.g., Applicant Tracking System dispositioning, workplace accommodations, manager awareness and diversity outreach efforts).
- Coordinate and administer activities related to our current and future compliance training programs (e.g., Harassment Prevention and Anti-Bribery & Corruption), including handling enrollment, scheduling, follow-up reporting and metrics.
- Lead the development and maintenance of a company-wide compliance calendar; partner with members of related internal teams (e.g., HR, IT, Finance) to identify related content, milestones, cadence, etc.
- Continually evaluate our compliance processes, making recommendations for improvements and implementing solutions, as appropriate.
- Partner with Legal to support the creation and maintenance of domestic and international employee handbooks.
We're excited about you because you'll have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
- 5+ years experience with global company compliance
- 5+ years experience in company policy development
- 5+ years of experience in global employment-based immigration, including direct work with non-immigrant visa matters (L-1A/B, H-1B, conversions) and immigrant visa matters (PERM, I-140) in an in-house corporate setting or at an immigration firm
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to empathize and communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the company
- Experience managing business processes and workflows
- Program Management experience
- Professional experience with global mobility policies and procedures
- Solid understanding of domestic employment laws and regulations
- Proficiency in HRIS (e.g., Workday) and ATS (e.g., Greenhouse)
