Director of Talent
Based in Denver, Colorado, Inboxlab is an incubator that builds companies revolving around email. Founded in 2017 by serial entrepreneur and angel investor, Nicholas Pardon, Inboxlab seeks to create value in new and existing companies by leveraging our core competencies around data, marketing, branding, and most importantly, the inbox.
Inboxlab presently focuses in two primary verticals: travel and gaming. Our mission-based flagship travel brand, The Discoverer, reaches 2,000,000+ subscribers with its weekly editions. The Inbox Games network currently serves 25,000,000+ game plays per month across 9 brands.
About the role
The Director of Talent oversees the hiring, orientation and development of all employees at Inboxlab. This role works directly with the leadership team, combining focuses in operations, strategy, business management, and internal communications. You will drive optimal performance from both current and future employees to accelerate business growth and revenue. Your ultimate mission will be to ensure that the company has the right people, processes, and resources in place to exceed its goals.
What you’ll be doing
Serve as the culture representative of Inboxlab embodying the culture, values, and mission of Inboxlab internally and externally
Lead recruiting initiatives across the organization including working with the management team to develop an ongoing recruiting plan to attract the top talent
Build a talent community via outreach and through our website and social channels; Leverage this repository for current and future roles
Lead strategic initiatives involving internal talent management across the organization to grow and retain the Inboxlab team
Meet regularly with team leaders to determine hiring needs for departments
Create and update role descriptions for all positions
Establish a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program
Select potential candidates and qualify with initial interviews
Counsel managers on candidate selection
Develop onboarding plans for each new hire to ensure successful transition into the Inboxlab team environment
Develop career paths and progression for roles within the organization as well as training plans for team members, in conjunction with management
Maintain employee benefits programs and assess employee needs
Monitor performance of employees and schedule performance reviews, including establishment of the best of breed performance review process
Act as a daily point-of-contact for team members and provide solutions, tools and improved processes to maximize efficiency and promote individual growth
Serve as a neutral sounding board for team members to discuss any H/R or other company related issues or concerns
Provide team growth planning based on company needs and goals.
Ensure that company commitments and priorities are being executed with all employees
What you’ll need to bring
10+ years of Human Resources experience required
5 – 10 years of direct recruiting experience, preferably in a fast-growing startup environment or for a recruiting agency
2+ years of director level management experience required
Growth mindset, driven by intense curiosity
Proven track record of strategic planning, goal setting, and successful execution
Strong technical background
Experience with product management tools
Strong leadership skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in an organized and efficient manner
Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field
