In order to achieve our mission to serve 1000s more students and accelerate our growth, we recently raised a $21M Series B round with top tier investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Social Capital, Harrison Metal, and Cowboy Ventures. Now, we’re looking to add a Director of Quality and Training to the team.

Our Director of Quality and Training will help us design and build a sales and service training and quality organization from the ground up. You’ll bring your expertise to our fast-paced, rapid-change environment and build on our early thinking regarding quality standards for a variety of customer-facing departments from lead qualification to reimbursements, sales to service.

A day in our open, collaborative workspace will look a little like this:

  • Collaborating effectively with cross-functional colleagues to improve the performance of all teams and individuals
  • Partnering with colleagues to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of multiple customer-facing team members, collaborating to create process and program improvements, and implementing change
  • Advocating for student enrollment, retention, and success to internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyzing data to constantly improve admissions policies and processes with an eye for improving sales outcomes
  • Designing and building data-driven reports to track and analyze ongoing operations and improvement initiatives
  • Supervising employees and working with them to develop new talent and progress and enhance existing talent
  • Managing large / long-term projects to drive improved efficiency in the use of tools and training for the team
  • Asking the questions that will help you help the team continuously improve our outcomes
  • Identify key areas of individual and team improvement and then develop engaging and high-impact training programs to build a world-class sales and service team
  • Design and implement quality and training programs that are suitable for a workforce that includes employees that are new to their careers as well as those with decade or more of experience

In this role, you’ll grow and expand your expertise by:

  • Taking on a cross-functional role that will expose you to the ins and outs of Guild
  • Showing leadership by solving unique, complex problems across our various teams
  • Participating in the development of prototype processes to improve key outcomes, build and iterate on those prototypes and develop evaluation systems to gain a deep understanding of impact of all quality and training activities
  • Learning new technologies to support learning, reporting and impact

You’ll know if you’re successful by:

  • Achieving established improvement goals for the teams you impact
  • Building programs with proven positive impact on the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the teams with which you work
  • Developing productive relationships with cross-functional partners by meeting deadlines, rapidly solving issues, and collaborating on opportunities for enrollment growth and improvement as well as student retention improvements and student satisfaction ratings above established goals
  • Launching new programs to meet our corporate partners’ and university partners’ needs
  • Improving student acceptance, retention, and completion rates
  • Launching new university and non-traditional partners and programs to meet growing client and student demands
  • Driving high employee satisfaction and employee retention rates
  • Building onboarding programs that increase speed-to-effectiveness for newly hired staff
  • Designing, implementing and adapting ongoing sales and service training that is second-to-none in it’s measured outcomes, use of technology to boost learning, and innovative approach to long-term impact on results
  • Receiving and delivering feedback through our learning-focused twice annual Structured Growth Conversations

  • An understanding of diverse project management principles, processes, methodologies, and tools paired with an ability to critically evaluate and implement the right options for each project
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple complex, cross-functional projects at the same time
  • Experience using analytical approaches to develop, measure and evolve processes
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and communicate effectively while under pressure - balancing confidence, humility, and diplomacy internally and externally
