Compensation Manager
NREL is searching for an experienced Compensation Manager to provide compensation expertise and insight to a rapidly growing national laboratory. The Compensation Manager will provide leadership and oversight of the NREL compensation system and will play a significant role in the strategic update of NREL’s compensation program, policies, and procedures.
Principal Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational oversight of NREL’s compensation program, policies, and procedures
Manage a team of approximately four analysts
Manage the annual compensation budget, including drafting the annual Compensation Increase Plan
Collaborate with NREL leadership to evaluate, revise, and communicate the laboratory’s compensation philosophy and strategy
Manage all compliance efforts as related to NREL’s compensation program and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including prime contract requirements, Federal Acquisition Regulation (“FAR”) requirements, and applicable state and federal laws
Manage the Compensation Team’s efforts in all compensation audits
Manage all required compensation reporting to the Department of Energy
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of relevant compensation experience in an organization with at least 1,000 employees, including a minimum of 5 years in a compensation management role
Experience administering, reviewing, redesigning, and advocating for changes to compensation programs with a rapidly growing organization
Expert-level knowledge of compensation concepts, strategies, and design
Strong knowledge of all applicable regulations, including Federal Acquisition Regulations and state and federal equal pay laws
