Job Description
As a Sr. Operations Accountant you will manage our full suite of operational accounting activities including, but not limited to, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Employee Expense Reports and Contract Management. This individual will have the opportunity to evaluate, improve and automate our internal processes while the company continues to scale and moves onto NetSuite. We are a fast-paced organization, and are looking for individuals who thrive in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable: Manage operational accounts payable cycle and weekly disbursements. Manage publisher accounts payable cycle, including monthly disbursement audit and ongoing publisher inquiries as needed. Administer annual 1099 reporting process for all vendors, ensuring compliance with IRS guidelines
- Accounts Receivable: create monthly invoices and manage collections process of customer payments and respond to customer inquiries as needed
- Cash Management: Prepare monthly journal entries and bank reconciliations. Update and distribute key recurring reporting requirements
- Expense Reports: review submitted expense reports, ensuring expenses comply with company policies and guidelines and upload to accounting system for recording and reimbursement
- Financial Audit: Prepare and provide external auditors with accounting information on a timely basis for financial statement audits
- ERP Implementation: Key member in the implementation of new accounting software (NetSuite), including automating and streamlining operational accounting processes
- Contract Management: Review customer and vendor contracts and maintain the company’s contract database.
- Various ad-hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required
- Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting
- CPA preferred but not required
- Strong acumen in accounting standards and protocols, with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills
- Proven experience in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment
- Motivated self-starter, capable with minimal supervision of planning, developing and maintaining individual responsibilities and projects
- Must be able to work under moderate stress and pressure while maintaining a professional attitude
- Previous experience with NetSuite strongly preferred
- Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times as this position will be exposed to highly sensitive and restricted information
