Senior Financial Analyst
We are seeking a finance professional that thrives in a dynamic and changing business environment. This person will support the objectives of the GHX Finance function and be part of a high-performing team of Financial Analysts. Responsibilities include financial modeling, board material creation, M&A analysis, annual planning, monthly forecasting, financial reporting as well as providing financial analysis and decision support for various functional or business units. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter, the ability to be flexible and to quickly deliver ad-hoc analysis in a fast-paced environment.
Principle duties and responsibilities:
- Administer and enhance multi-year, 3 statement financial models
- Lead the creation and compilation of monthly reporting to the Board
- Assist with M&A opportunities by performing due diligence, scenario analysis, testing assumptions and analyzing cost synergies and efficiencies
- Present financial information to other members of the finance team, CFO, and senior leadership in the organization
- Provide insight on financial risks and opportunities to achieve company's goals
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support business needs
- Learn GHX business, products, and industry
- Participate in the integration of new business
- Participate in special projects as deemed necessary by management
Knowledge and skills:
- Solid financial modeling skills, primarily using Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical (business/systems) and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented self-starter with high ownership of work product
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening) and able to produce high quality documentation
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of management
- Positive attitude with the ability to work in an energetic, fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to handle workload under time pressure and strict deadlines
- Perform duties independently under general, minimal supervision
- Ability to keep highly sensitive information confidential
- Ability to work closely with all levels of staff, including executive management
- Flexible and able to quickly adapt to a dynamic business and market environment
- Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, Analytics, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years in investment banking; 3 years hands-on experience in multi-year, 3 statement modeling
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, primarily using Microsoft Excel
Preferred experience:
- MBA preferred
- Experience in M&A with exposure to private equity and/or investment banking
- International experience a plus
- Software/SaaS industry experience desired
- Experience with Salesforce, Apttus or other quote-to-cash systems preferred
- Business Objects or related experience
- History excelling in a private equity ownership situation
