đ About the Role
Quantum Metric is looking for a smart, motivated, process-oriented revenue accounting manager to join our growing finance team, and support the team in executing on its vision of providing world-class financial and analytical support, insight and advice to support one of the worldâs fastest-growing global technology companies.
In this role, you will be a critical member of a top-notch accounting and finance organization, and play a key role in building and executing on a set of scalable, sustainable and efficient processes to support the organizationâs continued growth. đ§ Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day revenue operations for all areas covered by the team, including Contract Analysis, Revenue Recognition, Commissions, Invoicing and Collections.
- Lead the revenue accounting team, which includes a senior revenue accountant today, and is expected to scale as the company grows.
- Oversee maintenance and reconciliation of revenue and deferred revenue sub-ledgers.Â
- Partner with legal and operations teams to reconcile ARR and other critical data points across multiple information systems (Salesforce, etc.).
- Work with consultants and advisors to complete the implementation of ASC 606 for the Company.
- Lead the design and implementation of processes and controls around revenue recognition.
- Work closely with legal, operations, sales and customer success teams to manage the review, organization and approval of sales contracts, as well as initial accounting considerations.
- Lead the process of selecting, implementing and integrating technology solutions to manage revenue recognition and commission tracking.
- Prepare technical accounting memos and analyses for customer contracts with non-standard terms.
- Other ad-hoc projects, as necessary.
đĄ Requirements
- 5-8 yearsâ experience in: (a) a revenue accounting role with a SaaS/technology company; (b) a public accounting role, with a focus on technical accounting considerations for technology companies (experience with a large national firm is a plus); or (c) a combination of the two and/or other relevant experience.
- Thorough understanding of revenue recognition rules under US GAAP (ASC 606) for SaaS companies, including consideration of highly-variable selling price, gross vs. net considerations for reseller and partner arrangements, and identification of distinct promises in a contract.
- Experience managing technology solutions for management of revenue, commissions, and contracts in an enterprise sales organization is preferred; implementation and integration experience with these systems is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, detail- and accuracy-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Bachelorâs Degree in Accounting or Finance preferredÂ
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Experience with Salesforce preferred
- Thorough understanding of financial accounting and reporting under US GAAP
- Experience working with high-growth SaaS/Technology companies is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalÂ
- Ability to thrive in a fast-growing environment where change is the norm; strong multitasking skills, and flexibility to quickly move from one project to the nextÂ
