Our organization is looking for an A/R & Collections Specialist who can help us achieve our financial goals. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for the collection of outstanding accounts receivables from our existing client base. Daily work flow will include (but is not limited to) negotiating payment arrangements, answering inbound and making outbound calls, and written email correspondence. The A/R & Collections Specialist must exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness. You should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work independently.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for daily business-to-business collections calls on designated customers.

  • Reviewing open accounts for collection efforts.

  • Resolve inbound phone calls and making outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations.

  • Resolve client-billing problems and rescue accounts receivable delinquency, applying good customer service in a timely manner.

  • Collect customer payments in accordance with payment due dates.

  • Negotiate payment arrangements to prevent non-pay cancellation.

  • Must communicate & follow up effectively with sales department regarding customer accounts on a timely basis.

  • Collector should be able to have an in-depth conversation, ask probing questions, find root causes, and offer solutions.

  • This is a sales/collection hybrid because this person will need to be extroverted and outgoing in order to carry the conversation to achieve desired results

 

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

  • The ideal candidate for this position will have 1-2 years of collections and/or customer care or sales experience including interaction with a customer base.

  • Effective communication, problem solving, and analytical skills required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word

  • Must be detail-oriented and organized.

  • Creative, self-disciplined, and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.

  • Must exhibit excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a wide range of people.

  • A quick and flexible learner with a motivated and positive work ethic.

  • A committed and flexible attitude to the job.

  • Must be focused and reliable, and have the proven ability to self-manage in an autonomous work environment.
