đ About the Role
The Global Vice President, Sales Engineering will lead our growing Sales Engineering team. You will be a 2nd line manager, leading a team that partners with the global sales team as the technical lead on all sales opportunities, as well as with existing customers. You and your team will be responsible for understanding potential customersâ technical needs and translating how our platform offerings could be a fit. You will be proficient in the technical aspects of Quantumâs platforms, and will architect solutions for potential customers, along with technical value propositions to support them. You will also act as the technical liaison between Quantumâs current and potential customers and our customer success, product, product marketing and engineering teams as we improve and build new offerings.
Additional items that will be new for the role are to build out a value engineering program, take the lead with the enablement team on all technical sales projects and provide technical support to channel partners.Â
Youâll manage a diverse team of sales engineering professionals and maintain your technical expertise to engage directly with prospects and work cross-functionally. Youâll drive operational efficiencies across the sales organization to ensure we build a best in class team that scales.
This role is a general management role that is a high impact, playing an integral role in the success of the overall field team and companies planned expansion.
đ§ Responsibilities
- Hire, coach and drive an outstanding Sales Engineering team to deliver against assigned goals.
- Work to improve the technical sales methodology and processes, allowing us to scale with a rapidly growing salesforce.
- Assess gaps in evolving training needs and then create and implement programs to improve sales, product and technology skills of the Sales Engineering team.
- Work with the people team to develop a career framework for personal and professional growth.
- Provide timely and insightful input back to other teams, particularly product management, marketing, and business leadership.
- Develop and maintain personal technical expertise for all product offerings.
- Help companies across varying industries to understand and evaluate the technical capabilities of our products, leading evaluation cycles to gain product fit consensus.
- Understand and interpret prospective customer requirements, delivering customized product demonstrations to match customer needs.
- Design, validate, and document technical solutions to share with prospective customers and partner teams.
- Collect and analyze feedback from prospective customers to influence roadmap, collaborating with sales engineering, engineering, and product management teams to meet our prospectsâ business challenges and align with Quantumâs business objectives
- Refine our internal processes to ensure effective measurement of performance, consistent experience from internal & external partners, and improvement to teamâs impact on the success of deals
- Develop a technical value engineering framework and ensure that there is defensible data distributed to clients as part of the business case
đĄ Requirements
- 10+ years of experience working in a sales engineering or solution architecting capacity, preferably in the martech/VOC/customer or application analytics space.Â
- Past 2nd line and Global team management experience highly preferred
- Experience building value engineering programs or partnering with value engineering teams
- Past responsibility of leading technical teams that support direct and channel sales teams
- Experience with analytics, SaaS and business process transformation preferred.
- Track record of recruiting, coaching and growing global teams.
- You are a self starter who demonstrates courage and creativity in solving problems, helping your team achieve their goals and setting a future strategy for the team.Â
