Staff Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer is responsible for assessing systems, determining problems, providing solutions to issues that arise, designing systems, upgrading systems, maintaining systems, and brainstorming improvements for systems in the future. The essential job duties also include working with various departments to manage and develop new systems, analyze data to make improvements and help improve productivity. Although guidance and direction will be given; the Systems Engineer must be willing to own their issues/projects until solved or completed.
Responsibilities
- Mentor, train and coach other team members throughout the technology departments
- Own escalation of support issues by working with the support team to help find solutions and create documentation of processes
- Use engineering best practices is all aspects of work
- Work closely with senior engineering teammates to accomplish projects goals efficiently
- Focus on using automation in the build of projects wherever possible
- Help train employees throughout the company and seek to continually improve processes companywide
- Deliver excellent customer service by consistently demonstrating a positive attitude, quick responsiveness, effective communication, strong accountability, and collaborative teamwork, each day
- Willingness to continuously develop new skills
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years in Systems Engineering/Administration and managing large infrastructures at scale
- Experience managing cloud environments (AWS/Azure), Windows Server environments or similar
- Previous experience working in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
- Knowledge of Azure Active Directory and associated services (Intune, Autopilot, etc.)
- Strong understanding of networking principals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, etc.)
- Experience with JIRA Service Management or similar ITSM tools
- Knowledge of best practices around data and engineering security
- Self-motivated; capable of taking initiative, handling and prioritizing multiple competing assignments and following through to resolution with little assistance
- Able to mentor junior team members
- Ability to communicate with less technical users
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $120,000 - $170,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience. This role can be located anywhere in the US.
