About the role

 

IHS Markit is seeking an experienced Senior Software QA Engineer for our currently unreleased digital transformation solution. This role will be responsible for analyzing requirements, writing and executing test cases to find system bugs like UI and usability issues, conducting exploratory testing, and checking consistency across browsers. In some cases, this position can also cover test automation tasks.

 

This role will be responsible for managing and delivering testing as well as operational support in cooperation with the rest of the scrum team. The Senior Software QA Engineer is engaged with developers, IT, and project owners to develop and implement software testing strategies. 

 

About you

  • You have 4+ years of expertise testing web applications (.Net, Java, Angular, Node.js)  

  • Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to analyze business requirements to determine required test cases

  • Exceptional attention to details

  • Experience with a bug tracking system

  • Experience in organizing and executing regression testing

  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors

  • Experience with Performance and Load Testing using Apache JMeter or comparable tools

  • Ability to write and understand SQL queries

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and/or Linux

  • Experience in security testing is a bonus

  • Experience in Cloud environments, Docker and Kubernetes is a bonus

  • Experience in coding, general web development, and web services is a bonus

  • For work locations in the state of Colorado, the anticipated base salary range for this role would be between $75,440 and $98,900. Compensation will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the applicant.
