About the team
The Speed Track Team focuses on Technological Innovation. Our mission is to accelerate ideation and experimentation leading to world class products and optimized processes. The team works closely in conjunction with product and operation teams to accelerate modernization journey and building innovative solutions. This role is highly challenging, yet satisfying, and provides a fantastic opportunity to lead the digital journey at FIS.
What you will be doing
The Sr. Director, Technology Innovation will lead the Speed Track development team delivering on prioritized innovation ideas. Supervises and guides the development team to deliver prototypes, proof of concept, pilots as well as scaled solution to production.
Deliver proof of value: Prioritized Idea -> Prototype -> Pilot -> Production
Create and maintain strong internal and external partnerships to drive the innovation agenda
Identify and recommend opportunities for improving Architecture, internal tooling, sandbox, SDLC and other capabilities
Setup and maintain demo labs to showcase ideas and FIS solutions to internal and external business executives
Showcase developed innovation ideas though roadshows, demos and client interactions
What you bring:
Curiosity and problem-solving skills
Ability to navigate through ambiguity and complexities
10+ years of experience with minimum of 5 years of hands on software development and a minimum of 5 years leading development teams
Significant knowledge of software engineering, software architecture, data architecture, systems architecture, and data management required. Additional knowledge of network architecture preferred
Experience with agile and scrum methodologies, DevOps environments with high degree of automation of CI/CD pipelines, build promotions and code quality testing
Expert knowledge of Microservices Architecture and design, REST APIs, Security, Testing, and deployments in high throughput environments
Advanced knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Angular 6+, TypeScript, NodeJS, NestJS, and Material design
Experience in at least two of the following: Azure Cloud, AWS Cloud, Google Cloud.
Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to present to all levels of the organization
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Post-graduate education preferred
Added bonus if you have:
Experience in financial services and fast paced innovation team highly desirable
Hand-on development experience with the following: Node.js, Java, C#, or Python
Experience with technologies related to RPA, ML, AR, VR, IoT, blockchain
Experience with Kubernetes and Dockers for deployments in development, QA, and Production
Experience with Cloud native databases such as PostgreSQL, CosmosDB etc.
