We are searching for a Software Test Engineer!

What does a Software Test Engineer do at CyberGRX?  

This isn’t your run-of-the-mill testing job.  As part of an ongoing drive to deliver better products faster, our testers become product and process experts so they can detect faults upstream or even prevent them from being produced in the first place.  Here on the cutting edge, each delivery team has subtly different needs and there is no pre-defined playbook.   You will learn as you go, pulling insights and techniques from a wide range of disciplines including science, risk management, and even investigative journalism. 

What a day in the life looks like:

 You will constantly hunt for threats to the value of the product, the earlier in the process the better. 

• Work closely with Product Owners and other stakeholders to ensure you understand the value that might be threatened. 
• You will model potential threats and drive the discussion about discovery and mitigation strategies by applying formal risk management techniques
• Design and conduct experiments to reveal conditions under which product failures actually occur. 

On a regular cadence, you will break from your ordinary threat-hunting work to take charge of regression testing for one release cycle.

• Evaluate changes since the previous release and develop and execute a suitable risk-based test plan. 
• You will interpret (very technical) output from infrastructure and test automation. 
• Provide timely information to support corrective action and release decisions. 

What you bring to the table:

• You excel at describing system failures in technically accurate but simple language and discovering what causes them. 
• You can read a component diagram, interpret a stack trace, and understand the story that they tell together. 
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  You can summarize complex issues clearly and explain how they impact stakeholders. 
• You exhibit genuine empathy for your co-workers, customers, and anyone else affected by your work. 
• Bonus points if you have familiarity with software testing concepts, risk management concepts, and web technologies (e.g., HTTP, HTML, DNS).

Annual Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 

Annual Bonus Potential: 10% of your base salary
