Senior Software Quality Assurance Lead / QA Engineer IV
Job Description:
The Test Automation Engineer works under supervision of the QA Manager and is responsible for analyzing features and business requirements to determine required testing and automation needs within a fast-paced eCommerce environment. Individuals in this role have experience in manual QA testing practices and 4+ years of experience in test automation for UI and API’s. Primary responsibilities of developing scripts within established QA Automation Framework in support of functional and regression testing.
What You Will Be Doing
- Define, implement, and automate the testing of APIs and UIs in an eCommerce environment
- Write clear, maintainable tests for the front-end, back-end, and everything in between
- Work under minimal supervision while delivering on aggressive schedules
- Assess and improve our existing automation capabilities into a continuous integration and execution model
- Implement automation testing best practices, procedures and guidelines for consistency across the organization
- Provide guidance to other team members who are learning automation technologies
- Produce detailed metrics to track and manage test automation results
- Drive resolution of identified defects across multiple technology tiers and with geographically dispersed teams
- Provide realistic and accurate time estimates for assigned work as requested
- Takes the initiative to research and learn new automation tools as needed
- Recommend what makes sense to automate and what doesn’t
What We Are Looking For
- Typically requires 5-7 years of related experience with a 4 year degree; or 3 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of automation experience using C#, Java, Visual Basic, Postman or Selenium. Preference is C#, Selenium & Postman
- Experience shipping multiple releases over the years, and understand what it takes to build robust automation scripts that are able to be run every build
- Comprehensive knowledge of software testing processes, methodologies and best practices
- Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile approaches (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) to software testing
- Experience using the Atlassian suite of tools or equivalent (Jira/Zepher, TestRail, etc.)
- Experience with functional testing of eCommerce websites, API’s and backend applications (Sitecore, Navison, Hybris Commerce)
- Experience using cloud and virtualization technologies
- Experience with different software tools such as Git, Octopus, Team City, and Jenkins
- Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
- Strong team orientation and ethic
- Ability to write basic SQL queries
