As a Software Engineer working in Java on our Customer Management team at OnDeck, you will:

  • Think critically and interact with product managers and other engineers to design and build features for our decisioning work flows.
  • Work closely with all the technical systems to understand how our loan pipeline works end to end.
  • Participate in improving our build, testing and release processes in technology.

Qualifications to make it happen: 

Required

  • 5+ years of Java experience
  • Experience building complex systems in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with Java web frameworks like Spring Boot and Java Bean Validation.
  • Experience with Java testing frameworks like Junit and Mokito.
  • Experience creating and consuming REST web services.
  • Good understanding of event-driven, functional, and object-oriented paradigm.
  • Familiarity with relational database design and a high-level framework for database integration.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team to solve complex business challenges.
  • Passionate about technology and willing to learn something new.
  • Ability to independently work on a project when needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of React and front-end testing frameworks a plus.
  • Knowledge of AngularJS, Node.js and front-end testing frameworks
  • Familiarity of credit model building using R and Python.
