🌎 About Us

At TeamSnap, we believe when the world connects through sports; the world becomes better. TeamSnap is a sports and communication platform dedicated to taking the work out of play in youth sports. We also believe our jobs should excite us, our teammates should support us and our bosses should inspire us. We empower our people to bring big ideas and tiny egos, landing us on Outside Magazine’s list of “Best Places to Work '' and Built In’s “100 Best Remote-First Places to Work”.

TeamSnap is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to work closely with our automation team throughout the feature development cycle.

This role will directly report to the Quality Assurance Manager with cross functional stakeholders including Product, Engineering, and Customer Experience.

Using your critical thinking skills and clear communication, your ultimate goal will be advising and strategizing with the Engineering team on the best automation practices to accelerate the achievement of a shippable quality product. This position requires a force for continuous improvement, helping the team adapt and optimize in order to succeed (rather than maintaining a large suite of flaky tests), and continually seeking out things we can do that help improve the team (this includes people, processes, and tools).

What you'll be doing:

  • Use agile methodologies to plan, coordinate, and lead customer engagements that result in automated tests and input to product teams
  • Extract user scenarios from conversations and data and then translate your findings into automatable test plans (either you or a member of the team will automate)
  • Have a strong quality mindset and will ensure our customers receive high quality deliverables
  • Seek opportunities to share information and collaborate with others for the benefit of our customers, partners, and each other
  • Independently design and deliver automation and automation framework for products with a quality mindset
  • Provide oversight through code and design reviews for features delivered by other developers within their scrum team
  • Master the TeamSnap development process, culture and code base in order to improve it
  • Create end-to-end, cross cloud-impacting, integration automation (API and UI) with complex orgs
  • Communicate with our Customer Experience team to understand real life usage and build test cases
  • Execute Testing with complex org setup, varied data shapes
  • Monitor/Build product and/or feature-level quality health metrics (testability, test health, test coverage, etc.)
  • Work closely with senior developers, PM, and UX to ensure their features are delivered to meet business and quality requirements
  • Provide leadership and coaching to others on your scrum teams, as well as providing mentoring to others on their automation journey

What'll set you up for success:

  • Proficient in multiple Object-Oriented Programming languages
  • You're a critical thinker with a natural curiosity to learn our customers' business
  • You're an independent thinker and a self-starter
  • Caring deeply about the customer. The customer is the only quality judge that matters

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in SaaS/mobile app experience
  • Have a favorite QA Thought Leader
  • Passionate about sports. Being a parent, coach or participant in recreational sports is even better
  • Be a TeamSnap user (sign up for a free trial to see what we’re about)

Got cold feet? If you’re thinking you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, you should still seriously consider applying. We’re all humans with special talents that go beyond what’s listed here.
