As the Lead of the Enterprise Data Projection team you will be trusted, accountable and responsible for ensuring our structured and un-structured data is backed up and is fully recoverable meeting all enterprises business expectations. You will have solid enterprise experience with CommVault, Veritas NetBackup, and or NetWorker. You will have designed enterprise level backup/recovery and DR solutions that aligned with business expectations. You will be SME responsible for day to day operations, customer requests and agile project work. You will have enterprise level experiences with AWS. You are a critical thinking and problem solving and are able to build productive relationships to deliver results. You have the ability and experience to interact with all levels of management and customers professionally and effectively. You are comfortable with managing a petabyte of data and growing. This position requires on-call rotation and will in some cases be able to be on-site within 30 minutes.

Strategic View Point:
Often you will be presented with or identifying a need, issue, gap or improvement that requires a design, system, process or procedure to plan and implement to resolve. Managing the plan to completion; “Project Management and follow-through” will be expected. Know the impact of the above planned resolution to assist the line-of-business (LOB) or DigitalGlobe to function at the most efficient, effective way possible. Must be able to empathize with all partners and customers and take the time to fully understand their points of view, needs and problems to help delivery results. 

Responsibilities 

  • Designing/implementing new backup solutions  

  • Improvements for existing and new backup enterprise 

  • Develop new designs and solutions with solid business cases and ROI 

  • Provide recommendations and improvements for our internal operations 

  • Hands-on experience and understand of AWS backup architectures  

  • Advanced Administration and engineering level experience with the Commvault Version 11 Data Management Solution 

  • Experience and understanding of data management & information life cycle management 

  • Troubleshooting, administration, and configuration of IP networks 

  • Advanced administration and troubleshooting of Windows and UNIX server environments  

  • Think outside of the box trouble shooting complex problems 

  • Knowledge and experience with Storage Area Networks and NAS devices 

  • Troubleshooting and configuration of SCSI and FC devices 

  • Knowledge of CommVault V11 and CommVault reporting capabilities 

  • Working experience with Isilon clusters on infiniband switches 

  • Working experience with CommVault internal networker infrastructure  

  • Working experience with Reporting server DR CommServe 

  • Working Experience with Networker V8 & V9 

  • Working Experience SCSI connected tape libraries and management of 

 

 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 8 years relevant and demonstrable hands on experience 

  • BS/MS Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience in satellite ground systems and/or operations 

  • Knowledge of modern software engineering (Infrastructure as code, Cloud, etc.. 

  • Experience supporting service-oriented architecture software in cloud environments including 

  • Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.) 

  • Experience with scripting with any of the following programming languages for automation of processes (Python, Go, Shell, Ruby, PowerShell, etc.) 

  • Source control experience such as GitHub etc.. 

  • Experience with configuration management software as in Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.. 

  • Worked in a SAFE Agile IT organization 

  • Networking (Juniper, Cisco, F5, Content Security, etc.) 

  • Network Services (LDAP, AD, DHCP, DNS, etc.) 

  • OSI Layers 5-7 (Session, Presentation and Application) ( API, HTTP, etc.) 

  • Virtualization (ESX, OpenStack, etc.) 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • US Citizen with ability to obtain a secret clearance 

  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Flexibility within a constant change environment with the ability to adapt to new technologies 

  • Demonstrable senior level Linux and Windows server skills 

  • Demonstrable deep knowledge of, storage, networks and system security 

  • Knowledge of alternative backup platforms ‘Networker’ and other various platforms 

  • Knowledge of Vmware, OpenStack, MS server platforms and applications (e. g. Exchange, SQL Server), Linux (Advanced knowledge), Oracle database and RAC’s (basic knowledge)
