You:
EverCommerce is seeking a Security Architect to design and deliver effective security solutions across our growing enterprise. This is a hands-on technical management role that is action and solution oriented with an emphasis on collaboration across the organization. The primary mission is to evaluate the existing security posture of our organizations, design an upgrade strategy that is consistent with business goals and relevant to security standards, and manage to completion. This position reports to the CTO.

Must Haves:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in information security, including 2+ years with direct management responsibility for a security or IT team
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Expert-level experience in one or more cybersecurity disciplines
  • Demonstrated track record of driving improvements to a company’s security posture
  • Willingness to take ownership of problems, drive alignment, and push forward with solutions
  • Proven self-starter who can quickly develop concepts and innovative ideas and can solve challenges facing the organization with little direction and oversight
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage complex projects with many moving parts
  • Ability to understand the workings of numerous disparate networks and cloud environments
  • Displays a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrates a technology agnostic attitude, with equal appreciation for Linux/Windows, cloud/AWS/co-lo, open-source/commercial, etc
  • Audit experience with key standards such as HIPAA, PCI, and/or SOC 2
  • Ability to document your work in detail
  • Can use good judgment to solve problems where protocol might not exist
  • Solid communication skills and expertise to translate technical jargon into business familiar language
  • Must Have Working Knowledge of: Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, Firewall and VPN configuration, Window and Linux administration, Cloud architecture and AWS administration, Logging and log analysis, & Application security and OWASP top ten

Responsibilities:

  • Absorb and understand the architecture of newly acquired cloud environments and quickly identify/communicate vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement
  • Drive strategy and plans to measure and improve overall security posture
  • Manage many ongoing security projects with regular follow up and reporting to relevant stakeholders
  • Work directly with subsidiary stakeholders and the rest of the security team to effect change
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive audit practice with an eye towards repeatability
  • Stay abreast of changes in the threat landscape and attacker behavior, and adjust our capabilities to compensate
  • Provide technical leadership to drive specific solutions to complex security and business problems that consistently meet user requirements and industry standards
  • Provide complex technical oversight, support, design and enforcement of security directives, policies, standards, plans, and procedures; continuously improve security practices and solutions
  • Assist in regulatory compliance audits, including HIPAA, PCI, etc.
