Quality Engineer
Job Description:
The objective of this role is to provide direct support to Arrow’s Advanced Manufacturing organization, in its efforts to implement and manage a Quality Management System that optimize and support end-to-end order processing, business operations and customer fulfillment. This includes, but is not limited to, the various elements of a Quality Management System to include; internal audit, certification management, risk management, audit schedule/prep, management review, corrective actions, customer and supplier quality programs. This role will work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure they maintain certification requirements and resolve issues identified by Arrow or its customers.
The Advanced Manufacturing Quality Engineer role is very dynamic and cross-functional while requiring knowledge, skills and abilities that span multiple disciplines such as site/process quality, operations, program management, engineering, customer quality, supplier management, project management, quality reporting, internal auditing, document control, and stakeholder management. The individual will manage, organize, and provide oversight of the internal, supplier and customer corrective action programs and initiatives directly supporting the global strategy, and ensuring corrective and preventative actions are closed and fully compliant.
What You'll Be Doing
- Participate in interactions between Arrow Sales, Customers, and Suppliers in order to develop and provide solutions as it pertains to Quality. Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both company quality assurance standards and applicable ISO guidelines and government regulations.
- Performs analysis and identifies trends using end-to-end order quality data and recommends corrective action.
- Supports the management of established manufacturing inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed.
- To support and optimize holistic strategies facilitating interactions between Arrow Sales, Customers and Suppliers with the objective of developing effective accretive solutions resulting in increased revenue generation and an enhanced customer experience.
- Develop and support organizational Quality systems and solutions for Arrow Sales, Customers, Suppliers, and all key internal functional groups by performing business process analysis, root cause and correction actions.
- When needed (based on level of risk and/or organizational significance) perform process audits, review corrective and preventive actions as it relates to process improvement.
- When required, work directly with customers to clarify quality issues and report findings and solutions.
- Ensure work activity complies to industry standards that may include but is not limited to the latest version of ISO 9001, AS9100 and AIAG and all other industry standards as deemed applicable.
- Analysis of data to identify significant problems and isolate root causes to drive improvement activity.
- General experience and/or familiarity with the following quality methodologies and tools: Six Sigma, Lean, CAPA, Root Cause, Corrective/Preventative Action, 8D, 5-Why, PDCA, CIP, MSA, SPC, PFMEA, Control Plan and FAI.
- Experience in working quality issues using proven Quality methods, isolating to root cause and developing effective corrective/preventative actions and validation of effectiveness.
- Work with suppliers and evaluate their effectiveness on root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action.
- Develop and present Quality metrics and reports to senior leadership on the overall health and effectiveness of core business processes.
- Up to 15% Travel, both Domestic & International.
What We Are Looking For
- 4-year degree and 4–6 years of related experience preferred
- Advanced degree or certification in quality methods and 2-3 years of related experience
- Or 8-10 years relative work experience in one or a combination of the below fields, without formal degree:
- Quality Assurance; including proficient knowledge of ISO 9001 and knowledge of AS9100 or AS9120
- Detailed root cause analysis and corrective and preventative action development
- Risk Evaluation, Communication & Mitigation
- Customer interaction regarding quality issues
