As a Principal Appian Engineer/Architect of Appian Engineering, you will be responsible for building applications/solutions on the Appian platform.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for leading multiple development teams building products on the Appian platform
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Appian development, involving customization and configuration of the the Appian platform involving code and integrations
  • Should be able to effectively contribute in the area of screen and workflow designs for moderate sized projects.
  • Should be able to leverage Appian technical documentation and Appian user community to build new prototypes as required.
  • Ensure the development team follows best practices, design standards and coding patterns
  • Continuously enhance and strengthen the development frameworks, engineering operations and release management processes. 
  • Work through development bugs and challenges and be able to think on their feet to provide recommendations and build efficient scalable solutions
  • Be a sounding board for architectural discussions and support the technical architect in defining the technical roadmap for the product
  • Work with product management in prioritizing sprint work based on size, scope and technical requirements, working with multiple Engineering leads.
  • Act as a technical lead to the engineering team catering to the products and work with geographically distributed teams
  • Mentor Engineers to enhance their knowledge and skillset
  • Partner with other PaaS developers, architects, data & API engineering teams to execute new initiatives
  • Work with leadership on capacity planning, release planning, maintenance & vendor relationships
  • Act as a Liaison between other Engineering organizations and build relationships
  • Work closely with Appian in incorporating the best practices in Appian Product development
  • Support the development of user guides for new projects and enhancements.

What You Will Bring:

  • The ideal candidate will be someone who has 10+ years of software development experience preferably with experience in the Healthcare domain
  • Strong background in PaaS development
  • 6+ years of Appian hands-on experience in development, configuration, debug, unit test and documentation.
  • 6+ years experience in requirements analysis, business process analysis, object-oriented analysis and data modeling.
  • 4+ years experience in SQL, HTML, CSS, JQuery and Java Script.
  • 6+ years experience in all phases of application system analysis, data modeling, and application development and application maintenance support.
  • 6+ years of experience in developing application using JAVA/J2EE
  • Experience on Appian implementation knowing all aspects of Appian product and application methodology
  • 3+ years in an architect capacity preferably managing Appian development
  • Experience with Appian SAIL, Process Modeler, Rules, Expressions, Documents, Knowledge Center, Data Management through Complex Data Types XSDs and SQL queries
  • Should have worked on one or more end-to-end Appian BPM implementation (Design/Develop/Deploy/Package).
  • Hands-on development on Appian (19x/20x) BPM applications. Should be able to write SAIL code.
  • Good understanding of Appian Objects such as Records, Sites, Actions, Security, Expression Rules, Constants, Query Rules, Web API, Interface Rules, CDTs, Process Models. Constants, Decisions, Integrations, Connected Systems, Data Stores, Groups, etc.
  • Experience working with CICD Technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub, SonarCube, JIRA
  • Database development skills and familiarity with web-to-database connectivity.
  • Worked on enterprise data modeling, data migrations dealing with large datasets and integrations
  • Strong background and understanding of Appian architecture including Security, Authentication, SOAP/REST API & Integration with external applications
  • Experience developing plugins in the Appian platform
  • Thought leadership in building products on using microservices and reusable components
  • Proven ability to design and optimize technical systems in support of organizational process
  • Appian Developer Certification - Level 1 & 2 is preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $136,000 - $170,000 annually*
