POSITION SUMMARY

Design, build, test, and maintain services and applications within the Alterra Mountain Company ecosystem.  This position will be primarily involved in the design, development, and evolution of Alterra’s enterprise platform.  As a mid-level development resource, this position will work closely with other team members to implement back end focused integration solutions using the latest .NET stack mixed with some front end work. Position requires a business-oriented individual that can contribute technically and fit in culturally to a fast paced, creative, energetic, technology proven team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

General Responsibilities

  • Work with Business and IT customers to design, build, test, and maintain applications for various Alterra Mountain Company business units, including central ecommerce, resort point of sale functions, online marketing functions, and other various mountain operations.
  • Work to improve change control processes, quality processes, code repository standards, and other development standard within Alterra Mountain Company’s technology ecosystem.
  • Interface with, manage, and work as an embedded resource with Alterra Mountain Company’s various technology vendors.
  • Contribute to grooming your teams’ backlog, proposing work to improve reliability and reduce technical debt
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years’ experience with C# programming experience
  • 3 years’ experience with REST API development
  • 2 years’ experience with CLI applications
  • Practical experience with .NET Core
  • Strong SQL Server knowledge and skills
  • Experience with Entity Framework
  • Front end web development using HTML, CSS, and latest front-end frameworks such as React
  • Exposure to a message broker/service bus technology
  • Exposure with microservices
  • Familiar with software development life cycles, source control, and CI/CD processes
  • Source code management and branching strategies with Git and GitHub
  • Strong desire and aptitude to learn new technologies
  • Desire to share and receive feedback on best practices and design theory with and from others to maintain consistency in the development methodology.
  • Platform as a Service experience with Azure
  • UML experience creating sequence, activity and class diagrams

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Event driven architecture
  • Redis or other caching technologies
  • NoSQL database technologies
  • Azure Service Bus and RabbitMQ
  • Serverless computing utilizing Azure Functions
  • Experience with Unit, Integration and Automated testing
  • Understanding of the OAuth 2.0 protocol

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
