Summary
Xyleme is looking for an experienced UX designer to help develop and improve overall user experience for its web-based content management applications. In this role, you will be working closely with our product management and application development teams to bring your ideas, concepts, and designs to life across our platform. You will be responsible for all areas of application user experience design to implement the long-term vision of Xyleme.
What You Will Do
As a UX designer, you will perform the following types of tasks as part completing new implementations or improving and maintaining existing applications/services:

• Identify current UX design problems and challenges in our applications, with the goal to improve the user experience of the platform
• Perform research to understand customer needs, goals, motivations, and behaviors (getting in the mind of the end user)
• Assist with planning and executing studies/tests to learn how users will interact with the applications
• Apply conceptual thought processes to formulate practical solutions - combining business needs, goals and technical realities.
• Design and sketch out initial ideas based on research to share with members of the team and get initial feedback.
• Prototype and document initial designs for development
• Participate with the development teams to clarify designs and drive a UX culture
• Gather feedback, both internally and externally using focus groups, online surveys, interviews, to measure ease-of-use and overall adoption
• Participate in Application Testing, including user behavior as well as reviewing pre-release versions of code to ensure it meets design requirements

Skills & Experience
Required

• At least 7 years' experience in an end-to-end application design role, preferably with a B2B SaaS company
• An in-depth and portfolio proven knowledge of UX and UI design, interaction design and usability best principles, practices, and software conventional patterning.
• Experience with the design life cycle, processes and tooling (e.g. Sketch, Invision, Figma, Zeplin, Adobe Create Suite, etc.)
• Background and in-depth experience designing user-centered interaction models, wireframes and screen mockups for complex UI applications
• Knowledge and understanding of browser-based and mobile platform application UI/UX design, including a thorough understanding of responsive design to ensure application usability across various screen sizes and screen resolutions
• A basic understanding of web technologies (HTML and CSS) so you can work hand-in-hand with the web developers.
• Willingness to keep up with new software design trends, and articulate the ideas with the team

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including base compensation $150,000+ (DOE), plus incentive compensation.
