  • Not afraid to experiment and fail. Failure is an opportunity to learn, and is embraced as a core tenet of Propeller.

  • A believer that technology can help solve hard problems and change the world

  • Aware that technology, by itself, does not delight customers; the sweet spot is when we combine technology with practical solutions, surprises, utility, and social interaction

  • A good listener who respects their colleagues, but who isn’t afraid to assert themselves

  • An owner. You pick work up off the floor, guide collaboration, challenge assumptions, and solve hard problems

  • Deep understanding of a product design system

  • UX design credibility, especially in designing and leading a design sprint

  • Sophisticated visual design vocabulary

  • Comfort working with other designers, product managers, and software engineers

  • Excellent communication skills. You’re clear and concise, listen first, and are comfortable advocating for what you believe. You’re comfortable changing your language and delivery for different audiences.

  • Advocate for users needs throughout our product design process

  • Work closely with Product Managers as thought partners

  • Facilitate our solution creation process to create the best solutions for our users

  • Run design thinking processes in focused design sprints

  • Collaborate with other designers to constantly improve our design decisions and build a consistent experience across multiple platforms

What’s In It For You

  • Work on a purposeful product changing the lives of real patients at a value-driven company.

  • Chart your own course for personal and professional growth with many opportunities to bring new ideas, create new capabilities, and stretch beyond your comfort zone.

  • Join a talented and collaborative team committed to finding creative solutions that scale. Everything we do starts and ends with how we can help a patient become healthier.

  • Work with a creative and diverse team of professionals. Solving respiratory disease requires a wide array of disciplines to work together. For example, we have epidemiologists, physicians/clinicians on staff combined with engineers, statisticians and data scientists to build the best respiratory solution possible.

  • Connecting as a team is important to us. Post-COVID, we look forward to the many opportunities to get together that we have enjoyed in previous years, such as summer cookouts for lunch, after work events like board games and hobby nights, and company-wide gatherings for team building! You can opt in where it makes sense for you.

  • We care about balancing work with the rest of life. We encourage and support our team members to disconnect when they’re not at work.

Excited about the position but not sure if you meet the requirements? Apply anyway.

Candidates who identify as members of historically underrepresented groups in technology and healthcare are highly encouraged to apply. An inclusive and equitable culture is at the heart of our organization. Growing a diverse team is key to understanding our patients better and accomplishing our mission: to make life better for every person and community affected by chronic respiratory disease.

We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are dedicated to building an equitable organization and growing a team with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, each helping us understand our patients better. To do this, we strive to maximize access to every opportunity and cultivate a diverse set of candidates. We aim to provide every member of our team with support, mentorship, and growth opportunities. We don’t discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, ability status, or any other differences. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. All are welcome here.
