Senior Graphic Designer
Job Summary
The Senior Graphic Designer leads the production of creative digital and print concepts, designs, and layouts that adhere to established standards. This position is instrumental in helping to coordinate details around marketing channels and tactics, namely those for print and digital media development. The Senior Graphic Designer will work on a team to help achieve strategic marketing goals and will gather, analyze, and present critical data while guiding the creative strategic plan and vision for the Design team.
Responsibilities
Technical Team Lead
- Supports Graphic Designers to lead print and digital media development
- Guides creative strategic plan and vision while ensuring both are aligned and well-understood by internal and external stakeholders
- Understands and analyzes organizational objectives and department business practices and aligns priorities with broader goals, knowledge of the industry, and market to develop long-term strategies
Print and Digital Media Development
- Manages the print process and makes financial decisions as necessary
- Designs and develops various forms of media for use in print or digital format
- Executes projects, for both online and print products, that reflect Workiva brand and its creative components (ie: web design, marketing banners)
- Works with Production Specialist on video and photo projects; assisting with photography, shoot set-up or other support as needed
- Works with other members of the Marketing team and provides creative input on projects
- In charge of vendor relationships with external stakeholders to ensure the final product meets brand standards for distribution
Observance of Company Branding
- Creates, defines and maintains brand style guidelines and iconography for Workiva
- Maintains a library of approved iconography and style guidelines
- Refines media products and presentations to provide uniform identity for all materials
Project Management
- Takes initiative and is resourceful as issues arise
- Manages multiple marketing projects simultaneously, prioritizing workload and ensuring the completion of each project under tight deadlines
- Provides regular updates on the progress and pitfalls of all major projects
- Manages the day-to-day information exchange with all internal and external resources for detailed specifications, materials due dates, reviews, edits and approvals
- Oversees intern projects and workload and may delegate responsibility whenever appropriate
Metrics and Reporting
- Analyzes data and presents strategic recommendations
- Effectively presents information and responds to questions
- Works to achieve major goals and objectives for marketing channels, ensuring growth
Relationship Building
- Effectively builds working relationships with all departments, including excellent outbound communication of goals and project statuses
- Focuses on “customers” within business units, looking for opportunities to improve Marketing support for their goals
- Acquires and evaluates stakeholder and user feedback; proposes and implements changes based on data and metrics
What You'll Need
Education
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.

Marketing - Required Skills
- Self-starter who takes initiative and brings fresh, new ideas to the table
- Flourishes in a fast-paced environment and can act quickly on their feet
- Accurate, meticulous, with high attention to detail
- Manages projects through all stages including: conception, budgeting, implementation, and wrap-up
- Excellent work ethic and time management skills
Experience - Required
- Solid computer skills including Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, internet navigation and e-mail use
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Ability to take initiative and be resourceful as issues arise
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables within a situation
- Exceptional organizational, communication, interpersonal and project management skills
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly to changing situations
- Ability to interact with internal peers and management in a professional manner
Experience - Preferred
- Five years industry experience preferably on a creative/marketing team
- Experience working with a geographically distributed team
- Experience with digital assets and marketing
- Excellent business communications skills, both written and verbal
Travel Requirement
- Minimal travel may be required
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.
How You'll Be Rewarded
- Base Pay Range in Colorado: $72,000 - $96,000
- A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
- Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
