What You'll Do:

  • Create the layout and design of GovLoop written products including worksheets, infographics, research briefs, guides, ebooks and more
  • Work with our events department to design collateral for online and in-person events such as posters, presentations, and web banners
  • Illustrate and design branded marketing materials (like t-shirts, business cards, flyers, stickers, etc.)
  • Develop a cohesive brand strategy for our annual 2-day flagship NextGen Summit
  • Collaborate with our motion graphics team on brainstorming, storyboarding, and reviewing our on-demand learning videos
  • Create social media campaigns and images for both the GovLoop and NextGen brands
  • Work with an awesome group of smart, hard-working professionals who want to help government get better

Who You Are:

  • Up-to-date portfolio required. Please include a link in your resume or cover letter
  • Must be available to work 9AM - 5PM EST schedule
  • 1-3 years of experience as a graphic designer working with layout, illustration, publishing, branding, editorial and/or web design
  • Preferred degree in graphic design, but will consider other degrees with relevant experience
  • Fluency in full Adobe Creative Suite a must, with a focus on InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • A solid foundation in graphic design demonstrated through compelling use of design principles and elements including: white space, balance, repetition, typography, color, contrast, alignment, etc.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with AfterEffects
  • Experience recording and editing audio
  • Experience working with HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript, as well as experience designing for WordPress or other CMS platforms
  • Photography or videography skills (please include in portfolio if applicable)
