We are currently working in a hybrid environment and are seeking to fill one full time Database Developer II position immediately in Boulder, CO (HQ) or Dedham, MA.

Position Summary

As a Database Developer II on the Data Operations team, you play the important role of ensuring data is always available for our clients. You will respond to operational issues in our data pipelines, and use your technical knowledge to build resilience into our data pipelines, to prevent those issues from happening. This position offers candidates an opportunity to develop greater knowledge of energy markets, cloud-based software products, and SaaS businesses, while applying and developing technical, research, and customer-facing skills with one of the most creative and hard-working staff in the industry.  Want to be part of a collaborative Agile Development team designing solutions to complex problems that will impact the future of our ever-evolving electrical grid.

Requirements:

 At least 4 years of related experience

 4+ years of SQL experience

 4+ years of Oracle PL/SQL experience

Bonus points for:

 Experience with ETL and complex data pipelines

 Energy industry experience or experience in equities/commodities trading

 Experience with web scraping including HTML parsing, HTTP protocols and network logs

 Experience with Python and Bash Scripting

 Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

Responsibilities

 Ensure highest possible quality and integrity of Yes Energy data; recommend and implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality

 Troubleshoot urgent operational issues and implementing process improvements to prevent the same issue from happening twice

o Participate in weekly rotation of data on-call shifts, including nights & weekends

 Develop and maintain database types, stored procedures, views and functions for Yes Energy applications

 Maintain database packages, procedures, views, metadata systems and related internal tools

 Contribute to technical departmental standards in such areas as change control, configuration management, development methodology, and coding standards

 Create and maintain technical documentation

 Learn and develop energy market knowledge

 Monitor new technologies and solutions for their possible fit in Yes Energy technical stack

 Mentor junior developers and improve technical knowledge across the company

Base Compensation Range: $90,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and location.
