Senior Deal Desk Analyst
Summary
The Senior Deal Desk Analyst is responsible for supporting the Sales team members with guidance on deal structure, pricing, and commercial terms escalating issues to the leadership team. This individual contributor will also project manage the deal flow for each opportunity from quote to order with guidance from the leadership team. This position partners with internal cross-functional stakeholders and the leadership team to provide the best deal for both Workiva and the customer while ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
Responsibilities
Deal Structure and Deal Management
- Acts as trusted advisor to sales on deal structures, pricing best practices, and deal options with guidance from the leadership team.
- Liaises on behalf of sales with Accounting, Legal, Product, and other internal teams to collaboratively align cross-functional teams and obtain approvals
- Project manages deals from opportunity to order including contract drafting and approvals
- Provides data and order management on contract negotiations and current sales opportunities
- Maintains a strong knowledge of Workiva products through a commitment to ongoing training
- Reviews redlines and, with guidance from senior team members or Legal, drafts contract language when needed for deal structures
- Guides sales in creating standard deal structures when possible and with guidance from senior team members is also able to navigate revenue recognition and legal concerns when crafting nonstandard deals; loops in Accounting and Legal when needed
Forecast Management
- Partners with sales leadership to understand deal prioritization and drive deals to closure
What You'll Need
Education
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.•
Skills
- Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills with ability to synthesize and effectively communicate information across teams
- Work autonomously, set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment with guidance from senior team members
- Ability to quickly learn foundational knowledge and rules of engagement while resolving a wide range of issues in ways that align with global corporate goals
- Ability to quickly find solutions for common requests and will partner with senior team members to find creative and sustainable solutions for uncommon requests.
- Strong organizational skills
- Dedicated to excellent customer service
- 3-5 years in Deal Desk, Sales Operations, Deal Strategy, Contracts, and/or Pricing
- Proven project management experience with ability to manage deals from quote to order
- Understanding of ASC 606 accounting rules
- Experience supporting remote and local SaaS sales teams
- Experience working with remote cross-functional teams such as Legal, Finance, Product
- Experience with sales models
- Salesforce CRM experience required; Salesforce CPQ experience preferred
- Less than 10% travel
- Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.
How You'll Be Rewarded
- Base Pay Range in Colorado: $84,000 - $105,000
- A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
- Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
