POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Research Associate – RUO assay development position is responsible for assisting in the design, development, and evaluation of Archer custom and catalog products utilizing Archer’s AMP technology. As familiarity with AMP-based NGS increases, novel approaches to experimental design and development of new NGS products will be expected. This position is a key part of the greater RUO Assay Development team, requiring strong communication skills.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Job performance will involve a variety of activities including:

  • Assay design
  • Library preparation and sequencing
  • Planning, execution, and analysis of experiments
  • Interpretation of scientific results to provide recommendations moving forward
  • Development of new data analysis techniques
  • Consolidation and communication of results to scientists, project leaders, or customers
  • Maintenance of detailed and up-to-date lab notebooks, sample inventories, etc.
  • Meeting deadlines to drive projects forward
  • Idea generation to improve existing technology and drive future technology
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Review, understanding, and compliance with ArcherDX HIPAA Security policies and procedures.
  • Safeguarding the privacy and security of protected health information and European Union personal data.
  • Processing and handling of European Union personal data only as directed by ArcherDX for purposes of personalized molecular pathology.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-5+ years of laboratory experience
  • 1+ years in an industry setting (preferred)
  • Proficient familiarity with common molecular biology techniques
  • Proficiency working with large datasets
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics
  • Demonstrated scientific problem solving skills

EDUCATION:

  • BS/MS/PhD in biochemistry or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
