Director, Integration and Custom Development
The Director leads the integration tools and custom development teams in the Professional Services organization. Integration tools team is responsible for creating solutions for converting data from competitor products to Vertafore products. Conversions include converting data from one system to another, as well as handling digital files. Integration tools team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing solutions as well as developing solutions for new data sources. The custom development team is responsible for creating solutions to allow Vertafore products to meet customer needs. Custom projects are varied but can include third party integrations, data extracts, processing automations, and custom reports. Custom teams works directly with customers to identify, scope and deliver custom solutions that enhance the value of Vertafore products.
Role Impact:
Vertafore develops and delivers software to the Insurance industry, helping our clients in how they help THEIR clients. In support of our products and our clients, the Director will be immediately responsible for the following:
- Responsible for development and technical strategy – design, architecture, technical approaches
- Collaborate with Product Manager, key stakeholders in Professional Services and Sales on integration tools strategy and roadmap
- Manage all engineering activities including design, development, production, testing
- Implement agile development processes to continuously improve efficiency, quality, and CSAT
- Engage with customers during presales and project implementations as needed
- Ensure accurate proposal estimation and costing for custom solutions
- Drive recruitment and proactive people management strategies to ensure the retention and growth of key resources
- Work collaboratively with other internal teams: Customer Support, Product Management, Development & Sales
Technical Skills:
· Broad knowledge of data processing systems, concepts, and methodologies
· Oracle, SQL, NoSQL Database Architectures, Web Services
· Stored Procedures
· Scripting experience
• ETL tools and processes
• Data Warehousing
Experience:
· 5 years of technical management experience in related industry
• 10 years' experience in a hands-on technical role such as DBA, Software Engineer, or BI Engineer
• BS in a technical discipline, Masters degree preferred
· Extensive experience in the software industry
· Experience with Six Sigma or process efficiency method to improve project execution
· Software implementation experience
• Experience with Agile development methodology preferred
· Ability to manage complex information and rapidly structure and rationalize it
• Handle stress related to conflicting priorities and meeting schedule deadlines.
· Strong attention to detail, well organized administratively
