Business Unit Manager - Project Controls
Manage Project Control activities and employees within the Tactical Solutions SBU. This experienced leader will motivate, mentor and train employees. Responsibility includes program financial direction and guidance that ensures successful program execution in accordance with policies and procedures related to Project Controls. Tasks will be performed under the direction of the current Business Unit Manager.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage and direct the business activities and functionally supervise all TS Project Controls employees.
- Hire appropriate staff to be engaged in the winning and execution of on-going business and programs for TS.
- Support the SBUs with Project Controls direction and training across the portfolio.
- Supervise direct staff levels.
- Ensure that performance reviews are performed for all assigned personnel.
- Manage the business aspects of a portfolio of proposals, programs, IR&D, or other functions that are worked by Project Controls Analysts who may be dispersed and co-located with their customers.
- Develop and maintain Project Controls budgets.
- Understand business and program requirements and coordinate with the current SBU/SSUs to provide consistent processes and procedures across Ball Aerospace for TS Project Controls.
- Support and assist in change proposal development.
- Serve as business advisor to the SBU VP in long-range planning, capital expenditure analysis, operating year planning, performance analysis, and financial forecasting.
- Ensure that change proposals, programs, and other operations are compliant with regulatory requirements and conducted in accordance with Ball Aerospace best practices.
- Manage the implementation of new or existing policies and procedures and support SBU/SSU-level requests and special projects.
- Understand business and program requirements and document cost, schedule, and technical performance impacts of changes to Ball Aerospace and SBU operating plans
- Resolve business problems with management or customer representatives.
- Provide guidance to managers, department personnel, and other employees regarding performance measurement and governmental regulations compliance.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
- BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Microsoft (MS) Excel, Power Point, and other MS office applications proficiency.
- Program and Proposal cost and schedule planning, budgeting, control, analysis, and reporting.
- Specific SBU experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 15.4
- Knowledge of the DCAA Audit Manual and previous experience with supporting DCAA/DCMA audits
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Previous leadership and supervision of personnel.
- A current, active Secret security clearance is required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment.
- Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
Verification that your current security clearance or government customer access meets the requirement for this position will be required.
Relocation for this position is not available.
Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $132,500 - $183,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
- Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
