This means helping developers discover and embrace the best CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management) solution in the world. We are recruiting a Developer Advocate to help build community accessible software, examples and documentation for the FusionAuth solution. You should be interested in the authentication, authorization and user management space. You should be seasoned at writing clear code and documentation. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, fast worker and excited about growing a company from the ground up. You will report directly to the VP of Engineering. We are open to full time candidates anywhere in the USA, or full or part-time contractors anywhere in the world.
Key Responsibilities
Create and document SDKs, client libraries and sample applications for the free FusionAuth Community version, enabling and illustrating how developers can build authentication into their apps.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Write working code and test your documentation, focusing on the languages of your expertise.
- Write compelling content including blog posts, long form articles and diagrams to accompany your work.
- Engage with your developer peers over social media and live conferences to educate others on how to solve their challenges using FusionAuth.
For example:
- After 30 days you'll have published one basic sample app and accompanying documentation.
- At 60 days you'll have published several quickstart guides using FusionAuth APIs or integrating with 3rd party applications.
- At 90 days you will have created an application and documentation digging deeper into advanced auth features.
Additionally, you will:
- Engage with the FusionAuth community in the forum, Slack, StackOverflow, social media and elsewhere.
- Be an active member at event booths (some travel required (
- Update and revise technical documentation.
- Explore other forms of content creation, including video.
If you are familiar with the developer journey framework, this position is focused on the "Discover", "Evaluate", and "Learn" stages.
Requirements
The requirements for this position include:
- You will write code. Proficient in software engineering (senior level) in one or more of Java, Typescript/Javascript, Ruby, Go, Swift, Kotlin, Python, C#.
- Experience with authentication, authorization, and identity management.
- Demonstrated experience creating long form technical content.
- Interested in speaking to technical audiences.
- Able to jump into new or existing code bases quickly.

Salary & Benefits
- Salary range: $100k-200K
