Job Description
You’ll join the Marketing team here at Moov as a Technical Writer and content strategist. Moov’s Marketing Team oversees all public-facing content: website, blog, API docs, technical video tutorials, guides, and more. We’re looking for someone who has experience writing technical API documentation but strives to flex additional content muscles by producing blog posts and videos. This role also maintains a proactive voice in our public Slack community, answering technical questions, sharing knowledge, and pointing developers in the right direction with our open source projects.
You will:
- Write technical documentation for Moov’s open source projects on GitHub, produce (or collaborate on) how-to OSS video tutorials, and help maintain general updates on our Docs site for Moov’s paid products
- Write software documentation from technical specifications, discussions with product managers and engineers, and hands-on experimentation
- Help define doc processes and contribute to doc standards, including participating in peer editing and review cycles
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates
- Publish release notes for our open source and commercially available software

- Can understand Moov’s open source projects and our commercial product with a high degree of technical depth
- Is comfortable taking an idea from concept to completion while working in the open
- Thinks of themselves as a content strategist and more than just a technical writer
- Can produce a wide range of content
- Loves working with developers and technical product managers
Qualifications
You have:
- Experience as a technical writer in the software industry
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills (clear, concise, instructive)
- Experience with Markdown and documentation workflows
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail

Salary range: $90k to $110k - based on experience, geography and other key factors
