How You Will Contribute
We are hiring for a Social Media Manager to develop and execute our social media strategy. Reporting to the Director of Editorial and Content, this role will represent the Red Canary brand and be the arbiter of our tone and voice down to every word, em dash, and emoji.
This role will complement the communications and engagement strategies of Red Canary’s other externally and internally facing teams, including Communications, Growth, Marketing Programs, Community, Talent, and Field Marketing. We are looking for a strategic individual with strong content development and engagement experience to capitalize on our audience growth and engagement success. The ideal candidate also will have strong storytelling experience, and a proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Please note, preferred candidates will be located in the Denver Metropolitan Area

How We Will Measure Your Success

  • Create, curate, and publish relevant, original content (text, image, and video) across all of Red Canary’s social media profiles (Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube)
  • Seekout and identify new opportunities to engage with key audiences across new platforms such as Reddit and Twitch
  • Develop playbooks for event promotion, platform-specific use, employee advocacy, and more
  • Launch and oversee our employee advocacy/engagement program
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to coordinate and amplify marketing campaigns
  • Actively surface topics and conversations that will amplify Red Canary content to the right audiences
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications
  • Develop processes and best practices to scale our social media function as we grow, including our approach to scale our subject matter expert social media program
  • Create/publish videos and ensure our YouTube channel is optimized for search engagement
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and make recommendations for innovative campaigns
  • Consistently set goals, and measure and optimize to reach them
  • Ideate social media-centric campaigns and work cross-functionally to support them
  • Be the expert on where our audiences live digitally, how they interact with one another as well as brands, and how we can maximize our influence through social channels

Experience and Aptitude

  • 5+ years of experience in content marketing and social media in-house or at an agency
  • Experience managing the day-to-day operations of social media channels including content creation, publishing, community management, and analytics
  • Experience with social media publishing, listening, and analytics tools
  • Experience working cross-functionally with internal teams and leadership to develop cross-functional social media content and campaigns
  • Ability to turn social measurement into insights and create actionable, data-backed reports, compile results, and provide recommendations
  • A creative mindset, with the ability to quickly identify trending topics and know when to engage
  • A strong, clear writing style and voice, with excellent writing and editing skills. Experience writing for social is a must
  • A detail-oriented approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables

Targeted base salary range: $90,000 - 105,000 (depending on experience) + bonus eligibility and equity
