Scientific Technical Writer
Job Summary
RadiaSoft is seeking an early career technical writer with a strong scientific background and an interest in marketing. Effective collaboration with technical, marketing and management personnel is required.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Scientific Technical Writer must effectively convey complex scientific concepts and software technologies to a broad audience. Writing and editing of text is required for websites, wiki pages, brochures, advertisements, software user manuals, social media postings, grant proposals, journal articles and conference presentations. The Scientific Technical Writer will conduct systematic searches of relevant scientific literature, as well as business reports on emerging technologies. Success will involve collaboration with RadiaSoft management, external marketing vendors, product managers, scientific researchers and software developers. This position provides an opportunity to participate in marketing activities and management of sales leads, including possible travel to scientific conferences.
Qualifications and Skills
The successful applicant will have a BS and MS in physics or closely related fields. A strong portfolio of technical writing examples is required. Other desirable expertise includes an understanding of software development, particle accelerator technology, medical physics, X-ray optics, plasma physics or machine learning. Experience in business development, marketing or sales is also of interest.
