The Challenges You will Solve
As a Community Manager you will act as a critical driver of the success of Red Canary’s open source projects by providing assistance and insights to a large community of open source collaborators, and users. You will drive outreach and representation of Red Canary and an open source project’s maintainers team, and will help encourage the growth of an open source project’s impact and community. This role will own the creation and execution of community engagement campaigns and strategies across a variety of projects and programs at Red Canary.
What You'll Do
- Act as primary point of contact for various open source projects
- Collaborate with a large community of open source developers, users, and interested parties
- Triage and alert on issues and requests on open source projects
- Monitor collaboration and social channels for references or inquiries
- Promote open source projects publicly through a variety of channels
- Encourage satisfaction and contribution to open source projects
- Supervise and evaluate success metrics of open source projects
- Build and utilize scripts to achieve various goals and objectives
What You'll Bring
- 2+ years proven experience, e.g. community manager
- Passionate about open source and the developer community
- Strong understanding of the information security community
- Experience in crafting engagement campaigns for projects/products/organizations
- Excellent interpersonal skills (technical & social)
- Experience with Git, GitHub/GitLab, Slack, Discord, Twitter, and LinkedIn
- Self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Experience working with a remote team
- Experience with open source projects
- Marketing experience preferred
- Engineering experience preferred
- Knowledge of information security industry concepts preferred
- Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and/or Atomic Red Team preferred
Targeted base salary range: $75,000 - $95,000 + bonus eligibility and equity depending on experience.
