Wowza is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Content Writer to develop marketing, sales, and product content for a variety of different platforms. Reporting to the Senior Content Manager, you will collaborate with our editorial team to create blog posts and other SEO-friendly content to engage our ideal customer profile. Responsibilities will range from editing web copy and video scripts to drafting case studies and press releases, as well as assisting with multi-touch marketing communication campaigns. You must know how to research highly technical topics and industry trends while completing a variety of projects on tight deadlines. Excellent grammar and writing skills are required for this position, as well as a familiarity with content marketing best practices and an ability to manage projects from ideation through completion.
Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm with the editorial team for new ideas and strategies for effective content
  • Research technical concepts, use cases, markets, and industries to create content that is innovative and original
  • Develop copy on a wide variety of topics for multiple platforms spanning short- and long-form content (such as the website, blog, thought leadership articles, case studies, infographics, reports, and social media)
  • Ensure that site performance analysis, SEO tactics, and media insights are continuously used to optimize content
  • Collaborate with demand generation team to ensure effective distribution and strategic amplification of content for maximum reach and business impact
  • Create innovative, eye-catching slogans and headlines
  • Collaborate with creative team, designers, product marketing manager, and stakeholders across multiple departments


Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred

  • 2+ years of professional writing experience, especially with digital platforms
  • Familiarity with keyword placement and SEO
  • Portfolio of published work
  • Excellent grammar and writing skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Willingness to conduct research and collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content is informative and accurate
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
  • Experience with WordPress and Google Analytics preferred


Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $60,000-$75,000

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of our salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's qualifications, skills, and competencies. The salary is one component of our total compensation package for employees.
