Manager of Embedded Software

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of embedded software engineers

• Act as a technical expert at  executive level customer meetings

• Coordinate with our HR and recruiting team to grow and build our embedded software engineering team

• Coordinate with VPs and Directors to provide excellent engineering services to our customers

• Communicate verbally and in written form with customers and engineers to draft statements of work

• Maintain the highest level of technical fluency

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer  Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

• Experience as embedded software engineer

• Expert level knowledge of C/C++

• Must be able to present complex technical ideas well in a customer-facing setting

• Demonstrated knowledge of the high-tech product development process

• Previous engineering management experience

• Knowledge of one of the following markets: internet of things / home automation; medical devices; video; audio; security & surveillance; cloud computing

• Proven experience with consultative / solution selling

• Ability to understand business / technical strategy issues facing tech companies

• Able to relate to executives and VPs of Engineering

• Superior, proven written and verbal communication skills

• Motivated by helping customers build great products; jazzed by technology

• Previous project management experience is a huge bonus!
