Instructional Design Manager
Are you an instructional design leader who also loves to develop content? Are you passionate about curriculum design and learning strategy? Vertafore is seeking an experienced leader who will lead a team of Instructional Designers charged with creating product training to empower our customers in the use of Vertafore solutions. As the Manager of Instructional Design, you will play a majoy role in development and executon on Vertafore’s training content strategy, focusing on improving content development processes and enhancing the customer experience.
Vertafore develops and delivers software to the Insurance industry, helping to our clients save time and money. In support of our products and our clients, the Manager, Instructional Desgn, will be immediately involved in the following initiatives:
· Develop a comprehensive learning model, and a training content strategy that supports that model.
· Lead a small team of Instructional Designers in executing against the team’s strategy.
· Spend some percentage of time developing content yourself, putting your content strategy to the test and assisting the team in establishing best practices through practical experience.
· Establish instructional design practices from needs assessment through evaluation, continually seeking opportunities to improve processes for the team and Vertafore customers.
· Collaborate with partner teams across the company, leveraging the expertise of others to ensure content meets and exceeds the expectations of users.
· Benchmark Vertafore’s training content against similar offerings in the software industry, staying on top of the latest instructional design trends and implementing best practices to improve the user experience.
· Analyze business metrics and training data to identify areas of learning opportunity, and make informed program optimization decisions using those data points.
Skills & RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years of experience working in a high tech environment
· 3+ years of experience leading learning-focused teams
· Skilled in developing learning programs and curriculum to meet individual and group needs, and adapting programs/curriculum to changing organizational priorities
· Exceptional planning, time management, communication, negotiation, leadership, decisionmaking, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills
· Experience managing programs in a matrixed, highly technical environment
· Experience working with an enterprise LMS and developing learning content using tools such as Storyline, Articulate, and Adobe Illustrator
· Have strong business acumen in managing learning programs, including the ability to make rapid fire decisions and take calculated risks
· Are fascinated by adult learning theories and methodologies and their application in a corporate learning environment
· Follow sound business ethics when executing job responsibilities to build and maintain the confidence of senior leaders and executives
