Job Duties and Responsibilities
Working across the EchoStar core business areas, the Head of Talent Management will work directly with the Vice President of Talent and Learning and other key stakeholders to support the talent management strategy through the creation and delivery of talent management processes, tools, and ways of working which will enable EchoStar to identify, grow and advance talent across the organization. The Head of Talent Management will be accountable for interacting directly with the HR Business Partners, key Talent Acquisition resources, and Business Leaders to engage with key talent at all levels in an effort to clearly understand existing talent and alignment of talent capabilities against EchoStar's future strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with key stakeholders to identify the talent landscape for future growth with a particular focus on key roles and job family groups of strategic importance to EchoStar
  • Create and support talent pipelines in alignment with EchoStar's strategic priorities
  • Support the creation, introduction, and stabilization of new talent processes, tools, and ways of working and ensure that talent systems are introduced with a focus on change and communications and in a manner that supports the fullest levels of adoption and utilization
  • Partner with Business Partners to identify emerging leaders and high-potential talent, utilizing a range of talent tools and processes to manage the development of this key talent
  • Support the process of diagnosing complex talent challenges and collaborate broadly to develop and deploy sustainable solutions
  • Partner in the creation of viable succession plans and ensure that these plans are kept up-to-date
  • Work to ensure the development of Talent Partners and seek to facilitate the most consistent deployment and use of talent processes, systems, and tools
  • Partner with the Learning and Development organization to ensure that leadership development programs are fully utilized and ensure that these programs accelerate the development of key talent
  • Engage directly with HR Business Partners and Business Leaders to identify key roles in assigned business areas
  • Engage directly with HR Business Partners and Business Leaders to create technical competency profiles for key roles and job families of strategic importance to EchoStar
  • Develop internal mobility plans to enable the movement of talent cross-organizationally to develop skills, knowledge, and confidence, sharing knowledge, insights, and success
  • Support the identification and introduction of talent metrics that position HR Business Partners and Business Leadership to better execute the business plan
  • Maintain accurate talent data to support succession and talent reviews and follow up on actions coming out of these reviews
  • Work with stakeholders to provide frameworks, tools, system support, and processes to aid the efficient management of talent at all levels within the organization
  • Work with the relevant stakeholders to leverage ERG's to support initiatives and projects intended to develop diverse talent
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to identify strategic projects, secondments, mentoring, skip sessions, and coaching to address developmental needs identified during the individual development planning in preparation for future roles
  • Work with the Learning and Development to support ongoing development of learning/development content that aligns with broader organizational needs
  • Implementing feedback loops and data-driven insights to continuously improve talent program effectiveness and meet the evolving needs of the organization
  • Work collaboratively with the DE&I focal point to support the identification and development of diverse talent


Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:

  • You have a minimum of 5 years experience in a talent leadership role leading cross-functional teams
  • You have experience in organizational design and have led organizational reviews
  • You have experience working with people data, visualizing that data to support greater understanding, and presenting meaningful conclusions based on data/analytics
  • Experience working with learning management platforms for storing and reporting learning information for stakeholders is preferred
  • Experience training peers and senior leaders on the effective use of people processes, system automation, and talent management tools is preferred


Skills and Qualifications:

  • You will bring high energy to the creation, deployment, and stabilization and bring a sense of curiosity and identification of opportunities to continuously improve talent processes, systems, tools, and ways of working
  • You can demonstrate the ability to articulate why talent development is critical for EchoStar's future and you will instill a sense of pride that challenges leaders to develop the talent within their organizations
  • You have exceptional planning and communications effectiveness and you are able to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization without positional authority
  • You actively collaborate with relevant functions in learning, talent, DE&I, and stakeholders to problem solve and share thinking - especially when the most difficult challenges are coming downstream
  • You display a need for achievement and work across the organization to put all stakeholders in a position to win through the implementation of impactful talent management activities
  • The ability to demonstrate previous experience in a consulting capacity with a strong preference for experience introducing new concepts, initiatives, and tools


Salary Ranges
Compensation: $127,050.00/Year - $181,500.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
